Memorial Day – Canada Day Celebrations 2016

Special Memorial Day Parade and Wreath Laying Commemoration the Battle of Beaumont Hamel – 100 years ago. July 1, 2016 at 9am at the War Memorial.

The “Road to Yesterday” Museum in the Cable Building will be open July 1 from 11am to 3pm.  See the uniform of Leonard T. Stick the first person to join the Royal Newfoundland Regiment (Blue Puttees) and who fought and was wounded in the Battle of Beaumont Hamel. Also, the Pigeon Inlet Quilters Guild special WW I Quilt and many artifacts  will be on display.

Canada Day Celebrations – Community Gardens – 11am to 1pm (Hotdogs, cake, face painting,…and more.)

Canada Day Cake and music at the Royal Canadian Legion, starting at 3pm.
