Robert J. Mercer Council Chambers Named – June 24 at 2pm

On Friday, June 24th at 2:00 pm – The Bay Roberts Council Chambers will be named to honour WW I Veteran Robert J. Mercer, who was the town’s first mayor in 1951. On February 24, 1951, Bay Roberts officially became an incorporated municipality. The town is an amalgamation of five smaller communities: Bay Roberts East, Bay Roberts, Coley’s Point, Shearstown / Butlerville, and Country  Road.
