Greetings from Mayor Glenn Littlejohn

The Christmas season is upon us and as you ready yourselves for the holidays, the Town of Bay Roberts prepares for the 10th Festival of Lights. the next six weeks will be filled with performance, the sparkle of Christmas lights throughout the Town and the outpouring of community pride.

On behalf of the council, I would like to thank our Special Events Committee, our citizens, our corporate friends and all other organizations that have made our Festival of Lights such a success. Through your efforts, winter in our town is a time of fun and fantasy for everyone. I encourage everyone to get out and participate in all the events that are scheduled throughout our community during the holidays.

This Christmas on January 3rd, 2009, as part of our tremendously successful Pigeon Inlet productions, we will be presenting a "Mummers' Christmas," featuring Kelly Russell, the Pigeon Inlet Players, Russells in the Corner, and Mummers. Please do not forget the less fortunate in our community, the sick and shut-ins, those who need a helping hand or a smiling face or perhaps a visit from you. Also, think of people around the world who have so little. Two people from our communtiy, Pam Norman and Paul Norman, have been working with a Christian Mission in Guatemala. Be ready in December to dazzle the National Judges when they come to judge us against our peers. Please take the time to - make Bay Roberts Shine!! I know you will and my thanks and congratulations to you.

In closing, may the peace and blessings of this holy season shine on each one of you throughout the holiday season. May you enjoy the peace, happiness and joy of the season. From my wife Leanne, my sons Scott and Andrew and myself a very Merry Christmas and Happy and Prosperous New Year.
