Countdown to Chistmas Day

JOIN US FOR THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBERATIONS IN 2007!

Participate in our 10th Anniversary Festival of Lights, which is designed to coordinate all activities in the town for the festive season. This year our lights will be increased by 20,000, including new Klondyke lighting and the Christmas Illumination Park at the Wilbur Sparkes Recreation Park. Please visit the Province's first ever Christmas Illumination Park starting November 28th, 2007 to January 6th, 2008 from 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Listen to the twenty minute Songs of the Season Display at 88.5 FM!! Tell your friends and be a part of history!!!

The illumination parade, tree lighting ceremony, Christmas concerts, church services, Christmas breakfasts, dinners, afternoon teas, skating parties, the Santa Claus Parade, community caroling, mummering, and much more will be a part of the celebrations! Our Schedule of Events Nov 28th to Jan 5 >>

Amalgamated Academy

In 2007 Bay Roberts was officially proclaimed the national winner in teh Winners' Circle: Small Catagory [towns under 50,000]. The award recognized the Amalgamated Academy for its Community Spirit and Goodwill Programs.

In 2006 Bay Roberts was awarded Five Stars for the large Nativity Scene Collection by the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints

In 2005 Bay Roberts won the National Winter Lights Competition for towns of 5001 to 10,000.

Participate in Community Events.

The Illumination Parade, Opening Ceremonies, Christmas Tree Lighting, & Christmas Park at the Wilbur Sparkes Recreation Complex .

The event starts at 6:30pm with the Illumination Parade. The Parade begins at the Amalgamated Academy. All Children and Parents are welcome to attend. All illuminated vehicles are welcomed. Members of the Bay Roberts Special Events Committee, the Bay Roberts Volunteer Fire Department, RCMP, and the Avalon North Wolverines will lead the parade. Glow sticks and flashing buttons are provided. Illuminated vehicles are welcome.

The Annual Lions' Santa Claus Parade is being held on the Saturday, December 1st. There will be a FREE Community Breakfast at the Fire Hall sponsored by the Bay Roberts Fire Department before the parade. The parade will line up at the Fire Hall and leave from there at 10:00am. Participants in the parade are asked to be there at 9:30AM. Food will collected along the route for the food bank.

Bay Roberts has been a three time winner in the National Winter LIghts competition.

Children's Colouring Contest

Children enter the Colouring Contest which is judged and prizes are awarded in various age categories. Everyone is welcome to enter. The town was very pleased a couple of years ago to get an entry all the way from Indonesia!

To Use the Screensavers Right click and make sure you save the file to your hard drive as an .scr file. When it is saved, look at the file in Explorer. Right click the file and a menu with appear. Choose "test" to view the screensaver. Then you can choose "install" to install it on your computer.
