Local businesses have easy access to more than half of the province’s population. As a result, the town is a centre for transportation and distribution, providing services for the Avalon Peninsula and surrounding areas. With about 5900 people, it is largest town on the Baccalieu Trail. Municipal Offices are located in the historic Cable Building which is both a National Historic Site and Provincial Registered Heritage Structure.
