Softball

Bay Roberts Minor Softball Association

The Bay Roberts Minor Softball Association is an independent volunteer-run organization. It offers instruction and games for boys and girls ages 5 – 16 years.

Each child should have a softball glove, long pants and sneakers (cleats are acceptable, but not required). Batting helmets are provided but parents should take note that these helmets are shared with all players. If you would like to provide a batting helmet for your child, please do so. Items should be clearly marked with name. Many gloves are the same and the child should easily be able to find their own. BRMS is not responsible for any misplaced items. All other equipment will be supplied.

We do suggest that you bring water, a hat, warm sweater, and bug repellent for your child’s comfort. Also, no food is permitted on the field. In the event that a session has to be cancelled due to poor weather or any other reason, notices will be posted on the Bay Roberts Minor Softball Facebook page. Please join if you have not done so already!

For the first few sessions, coaches will be focusing on doing drills and teaching skills. If there are large numbers, especially in Beginners and Mite, coaches may be dividing up the groups in order to have more manageable numbers on the field at one time. Please be aware that all the coaches are volunteers and will be doing their best to make your child’s softball season a successful one. We ask that both parents and children be respectful of the coaches and voice any comments and concerns to the contact people below.

If you would like to become a volunteer, all are welcome! Please contact the coach/manager in your division or contact: Glenn Mercer – t: (709) 786-2352
