The judges will be in the area December 13, and Bay Roberts and area will have worked hard to show them the pride and beauty of the place we call home. Every Picture Tells a Story - The judges encourage all communities to take the best quality photos they can. For it is these photos that will be used to showcase our community on CIB posters, the web site, in flyers and handouts, and at the Awards Ceremonies. Help the committee to show our best to the rest of the world! Some Helpful Hints for Outstanding Photography Try to capture photos based on the 2 criteria – Community Events & Visual Presentation. Think of photos showing the benefits, pride in community, tourism, involvement from people of all ages, and before and after shots. Think of the lighting conditions, shadows, time of day, etc. For better results while taking pictures at night, it is recommended to use a tripod and a minimum of 400 speed film. Consider the possibility of employing a professional photographer or get your local newspaper photographer. Some may even be willing to do the job at cost or donate some of their time in exchange for a mention of "Photography Courtesy of..." Remember that every picture really does tell a story - make sure yours is a great one!" Specs for Photography Your quality photographs are appreciated and may be utilized for WinterLights promotional material. For WinterLights posters, flyers, ads and internet promotion purposes, please send photographs in the following formats: In order of preference: 1) High resolution digital file (300 DPI jpeg) minimum size 4" x 6". This format will produce a digital file that is about 2 megabytes in size (per photo). Set camera on "Best Quality" for the sharpest photos. The camera will take fewer shots for the memory but the photo will be a higher resolution . These can be emailed or burned to CD. The more photographs we have,
