Rock walls were built by early settlers in Newfoundland. Some of the walls were carefully built with vertical faces on both sides or to shoulder and stabilize hills, while others were only lines of boulders piled up in a row along a field boundary. The rock walls are monuments to the hard work of our ancestors.
