The Bay Roberts Public Library provides service to the Conception Bay North area from Clarke's Beach to Upper Island Cove, including Port-de-Grave. The library occupies 3,250 square feet of space.

It has six public access terminals, one of which is set up specifically for the purpose of resume writing. The remaining five terminals provides the public with access to CD-ROMS and a world of information through the internet. The library is an important part of the community and provides residents with all their information and reading needs.

Schools

The town has three large modern schools which boast some of the best facilities and reputations in the province.

Coley's Point Primary houses grades K-4. The school has a total of 24.5 educational staff that includes 14 classroom teachers and 4 special services teachers, including a challenging needs teacher. They have specialist teachers in the areas of Reading, Special Education, Physical Education, Music, Learning Resources, and Guidance/Educational Therapy. They have the services of a half time speech language pathologist and access to district hearing and vision itinerants, an educational psychologist, and a primary program specialist. They have the support of two full-time and one half-time student assistants as well as secretarial and caretaker personnel.

Amalgamated Academy covers grades 5 to 9 with a total of 660 students (with elementary students and junior high students in separate wings, but sharing facileness such a labs and gyms) . There are thirty six full-time and two part-time educational staff, one guidance councilor, six student assistants, one full time secretary and three maintenance personnel. In addition to staff based at the school, we have access to District Office staff including: educational psychologist, speech pathologist and itinerant teachers for the visually and hearing impaired.

Ascension Collegiate houses grades 10-12. Ascension Collegiate offers a wide range of courses and programs for the senior high school student. The School's Mission Statement expresses the goals of the school. The school community is particularly proud of its mathematics, science, and technology programs which are capable of competing with any senior high school in North America. Astros Teams that have brought home numerous trophies and Ascension Alumni have made their mark in all parts of the world.

Churches

The residents of Bay Roberts follow a variety of Christian Denominations, and like most Newfoundlanders they are tolerant of people of all races, religions, and ethnic backgrounds. The following churches, which support services and activities for their congregations are found in the community:

The largest Church in the community is St. Matthew's Anglican Church. With seating for 1,100, it is considered one of the largest wooden churches in the province.

Most churches cooperate by holding ecumenical services on special occasions and distributing food and clothing for less fortunate families in the community.
