Bay Roberts Visitor Information Centre Veteran’s Memorial Highway (Route 75)
Open May 21st, 2010 to January 6th, 2011
Tourist information is available for Bay Roberts, the Baccalieu Trail, as well as provincial guides and maps.
Lois Dawe, Tourism Officer will be happy to assist you with traveling information and directions.
In addition to information, our centre offers a number of conveniences for the traveller. Our picnic area overlooks the region and our deck with a telescope overlooks Conception Bay. Two large story boards are located on the deck. One provides details about Bay Roberts and the other recounts the life of Ted Russell. We have wheelchair accessible, public washrooms with a baby change area. We offer a WiFi Internet connection.
Student employees will also be assisting during the summer months.
We will also be hosting a variety of community and regional events and encourage all our residents, those of the surrounding area and visitors to come out and participate. Dates and details will be available on our community calendar > >.

Bay Roberts Cultural Foundation, Inc
We are pleased to welcome the Bay Roberts Cultural Foundation Inc., who recently opened their office at the centre. General Manager, Sandra .Roach will be available for festival and event information. You may also purchase tickets for A Time in Pigeon Inlet, a dinner theatre based on the works of Ted Russell.
The main exhibition room has been named the “Holdin Ground” after Ted Russell's play of the same name. The "Holdin Ground Room" has a display of Ted Russell memorabilia, provided by the Russell Family, as well as the Pigeon Inlet Quilt, and the story of its creation by the Pigeon Inlet Quilters.

Theatre
The very popular Time in Pigeon Inlet featuring Kelly Russell, Russells in the Corner, Pigeon Inlet Players, and a special guest performer, will be running from June 26th to September 4th. The season will begin on June 26th with an opening gala to celebrate the achievements of Kelly Russell, who was named Newfoundland and Labrador's first Tradition Bearer in 2010. Saltwater Moon,by Coley’s Point born David French, award winning playwright whose works are presented in Canada and around the world will be performed at the Victoria LOL #3 Museum and Playhouse. It will be directed by Marc Warren, with Brad Mercer returning as Jacob Mercer and Robyn Brockerville playing Mary Snow. Holdin' Ground Festival and Klondyke Days
On July 6th our second annual Holdin' Ground Festival will begin and run until August 2nd. The Festival opening will be a launch of the "Holdin' Ground Interviews," a New Horizons Canada project for the Bay Roberts 50 Plus Club assisted by the Bay Roberts Cultural Foundation and Ascension Collegiate High School. Town Attractions
While
attending events, visitors have gotten to know the first class
attractions that the town offers. The 7 km Shoreline
Heritage Walking Trail is one of the most scenic and well
developed in the province. The Shearstown Estuary is being developed as a scenic trail where animal and plant life can be observed. The restored Western Union Cable Building,
a historically significant site in the development of communication
between Europe and North America, now contains two facilities:
the "Road to Yesterday Museum"
and the "Christopher Pratt Art
Gallery." Many tourists comment on the quality of all
these award winning attractions.
Since
its development pleasure craft have been visiting the Veterans'
Quay Marina, which is located in the heart of the town.
Tourists
also spend time on the town, enjoying the many restaurants,
shopping centres, and pubs .
