Terrance & Courtney Howell are the owners of Grates Cove Studio, Grates Cove.

Grates Cove Studios is owned and operated by Artist/Designer Terrence Howell and Courtney Howell, Newfoundland and South Louisiana natives who met in, traveled around and dined their way through South Korea. In 2009, they chose to settle their family in the National Historic Site of Grates Cove, the birthplace of Terrence’s father, grandmother and many ancestors. The Open Studio Restaurant at Grates Cove Studios reflects the exploration that defines everything they do. Exploring the abundance of top quality seafoods readily available, as well as the bounty of berries, mushrooms and other wild delights that inhabit the misleadingly labeled ‘barrens’. The Open Studio Restaurant is located in the old Grates Cove schoolhouse, just a short stroll from Grates Cove Studios’ Harbour View Bed and Breakfast, and includes an event facility, gift shop and open studio space featuring original art, craft and products inspired by Terrence and Courtney’s explorations in and around Grates Cove.
