Mayor Philip Wood – Christmas Message 2018

The Christmas Season is almost upon us. Churches, organizations, community groups and families are busy preparing for the up-coming festivities and celebrations. 2018 was a very successful one for the Town of Bay Roberts – a very busy one and 2019 looks to be equally as good. Scheduled to begin in the New Year will be the construction of a new primary school to replace Coley’s Point Primary  School and who could not be excited as the planning and preparation continues for the 2020 NL Summer Games.
The Christmas Season also brings our Annual ‘Festival of Lights’. I am very pleased to say that this is our 21st year of celebrating the Festival. I would encourage everyone to get involved – it helps make this time of the year even more special and memorable for all. To check out what’s happening with the Festival of Lights visit bayroberts.com on a regular basis.
Let us not forget those in our community who may need a little extra help at this time of the year or something as simple as a smile in order that their day is a little bit brighter.
In closing, on behalf of Council and staff I wish each and every one a very safe and joyous Christmas and a very prosperous New Year! I hope that both are filled with a lot of happiness and joy for all!

Sincerely,
Philip Wood
Mayor
